Injured Former TSU Baseball Player Showing Signs Of Improvement

(Stephenville, Tx) – A former TSU baseball standout critically injured in a car accident last week is showing signs of improvement, his friends say.

The Stephenville Empire Tribune reports 25-year-old Francisco Rodriguez, was airlifted to Texas Health Fort Worth Hospital where he remains in a coma, following the Dec. 16th accident on Hwy 281.  Rodriguez was on his way to a Christmas party on U.S. Hwy. 281 on Monday when he was struck from behind by a pickup driven by 23-year-old Brian Kelly of Commerce.  His car was pushed into oncoming traffic and he was struck by a truck.

Rodriguez who’s a special education assistant at Gilbert Intermediate, played baseball for Tarleton State University and is currently working on his master’s degree.  An account has been set up at TexasBank to help the family with medical bills and other expenses.
