(Dallas, TX) — The mother of Dallas Cowboys tackle La’el Collins has a new house that her son gave her for Christmas.
The 26-year-old athlete surprised his mom, Loyetta Collins, with the home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she lives. It almost didn’t happen. In 2015, Collins was a top draft prospect, but teams were scared away when Baton Rouge police wanted to talk with him about the murder of a woman he once dated.
Collins wasn’t even a suspect, but the draft came and went, and the Cowboys signed him afterward as an undrafted free agent.
