Blood Donors Desperately Needed

(Bedford, TX) — A North Texas blood center says donors are desperately needed right now.

The staff at Carter BloodCare says they need thousands of people to donate blood. As of Thursday, they had only 34 pints of O positive, the most common blood type. They prefer to keep more than a thousand on hand.

Carter BloodCare is the blood supplier for most of the hospitals in North Texas and has been experiencing a critical or near-critical shortage since last summer.
