Police Arrest Accused Hit-And-Run Driver Who Injured Autistic Teen

(Krum, TX) — A man accused of a hit-and-run accident in the Denton County town of Krum is now in police custody.

Officers arrested 23-year-old Jesus Acevedo of Winfield on Thursday. Acevedo reportedly drove away after running over 13-year-old Leah Johnson, an autistic girl, on Wednesday evening. He faces a charge of accident involving personal injury or death.

The girl is in Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.
