(Arlington, TX) — A former UT Arlington student is suing the Sigma Chi fraternity for a million-dollars over a hazing incident that he claims landed him in the hospital.
Ric Riner’s lawsuit names the local chapter, the national organization, and three local frat members as defendants. Riner was a Sigma Chi pledge at UTA last March when several frat brothers reportedly put him through a hazing ordeal that involved drinking so much alcohol he suffered alcohol poisoning.
Riner ended up in the hospital with a blood-alcohol level almost six times the legal limit.
