(Dallas, TX) — North Texas is now in the second round of a competition to land the Hyperloop One certification center.
The transportation technology is designed to move goods and passengers aboard vehicles in a vacuum tube where the lack of wind resistance would allow for speeds of more than 600 miles an hour. The competition is for a six-mile test track to certify the technology, which has been tried out on a short track near Las Vegas.
If Hyperloop can be proved safe and reliable, it could be used to link Dallas and Laredo.
