Texas Vet Accidentally Euthanizes Cat

(Houston, TX) — One Texas woman is heartbroken because a local vet accidentally euthanized her cat.

Houston resident Michelle Olson brought her eight-year-old kitty Sophia to the Suburbia North Animal Hospital for a rabies vaccine. However, on the way home, the vet’s office called to say they gave the cat euthanasia instead of the rabies shot. Sophia was taken back to the hospital but ended up dying despite hospital staff’s efforts. Olson has filed a complaint with the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

She told local media outlets pet owners should be more vigilant and ask questions of their veterinarian that may not be obvious.
