TRE Train Collides With Semi

(Fort Worth, Tx) – Around 7:30 this morning an Eastbound Trinity Railway Express train had a minor collision with a semi pulling a flatbed trailer east of downtown Fort Worth.

Police say the semi, hauling 30,000 lbs. of aluminum, was attepting a left turn when the back end of the trailer got hit by the train at the Riverside Dr. crossing.  MedStar ambulance service reports two people on board the TRE train were treated for minor injuries, the truck drivere was not injured.

Riverside was shut down for a couple of hours between Fourth St and Galvez Ave while crews cleaned up the aluminum that had spilled onto the roadway.  Dart brought in shuttle buses to transport passengers between Fort Worth Intermodel Station and the Richland Hills Station.
