(Miami, FL) — Patrick Mahomes is the first winning Super Bowl quarterback to graduate from a Texas college.
Mahomes is from the East Texas town of Whitehouse and played his college ball at Texas Tech in Lubbock. He led the Kansas City Chiefs to a come-from-behind 31-to-20 victory over the San Francisco Forty-Niners in Super Bowl 54 on Sunday evening. After the win, Mahomes was named MVP of the game.
At 24, the youngest ever to be named MVP. After the game, Governor Greg Abbott tweeted congratulations.
