Midshipman From Flower Mound Dies At Naval Academy

(Flower Mound, TX) — A cause of death has not yet been determined for a 21-year-old midshipman from Flower Mound who died over the weekend.

Midshipman 3rd Class Duke Carrillo collapsed during a mile-and-a-half run at the U.S. Naval Academy on Saturday that was part of a semiannual physical readiness test. First responders were unable to resuscitate Carrillo, who was pronounced dead shortly after noon at a local hospital.

Carrillo’s two brothers, one of them his twin, are also in the Naval Academy.
