(Fort Worth, TX) — No new federal dollars are budgeted for the rerouting of the Trinity River in Fort Worth’s Panther Island project.
Organizers had hoped for about 30-million-dollars this year to finish the design of the bypass channel that would pass under three bridges and form the island. The long-delayed project has run over budget to the tune of millions of local taxpayer dollars.
The lack of additional federal funding is a major setback for the city of Fort Worth.
