Man Arrested In Wise County For Trafficking Teenage Boy

(Decatur, TX) — A North Carolina man is under arrest in Wise County on suspicion of human trafficking.

A Sheriff’s Deputy pulled a car over for a moving violation on Southbound 287 near Bridgeport. The driver, 38-year-old Benito Granado, had a 13-year-old boy as a passenger. The boy at first said Granado was his father, but the story fell apart as the deputy asked more questions.

Granado reportedly admitted he’d been paid a fee to drive the boy from California to Georgia and was arrested on a charge of human trafficking. The boy recently arrived in the U.S. from Central America.
