Voice Of Big Tex Dies

(Dallas, TX) — The man behind the voice of Big Tex has died. State Fair of Texas officials announced Robert Boykin’s death Monday calling him a true Texan and a beloved member of the Fair family.

His widow says Boykin long dreamed about becoming the voice of Big Tex and was completely stunned when he was hired for the job seven years ago. Until yesterday Boykin remained anonymous at his choosing. Aside from Big Tex, Boykin also helped design the F-16 and the stealth bomber while working for Lockheed Martin.

Bob Boykin passed away late last month. Fair officials say he will be deeply missed.
