(Gainesville, TX) — A North Texas radio station is appealing the Texas DMV’s rejection of its requested personalized license plate.
KGAF in Gainesville wanted to put its call letters on the plate, but the state agency ruled that the letters GAF stood for a vulgar expression, as in “Give A F-bomb.” The station on Wednesday was told that their appeal to the DMV was rejected.
Station manager Steve Eberhart says he wants to take the matter up with Gov. Greg Abbott. The federal government granted the station its call letters more than 70-years ago.
