(Mineral Wells, Tx) – After ousting Mayor Christopher Perricone, the Mineral Wells City Council has appointed Mayor Pro-Tem Tammy Underwood to be interim mayor until a new mayor is selected in the upcoming May elections.

Late last week the city removed Perricone from office on the basis that he was reportedly in arrears on his property taxes which is a violation of the Mineral Wells city charter.

Perricone, who was often at odds with the city council members, was not seeking re-election in May, instead he’s running as a Republican candidate for the Texas House District 60 seat.
