(Fort Worth, TX) — Development of the Panther Island project in Fort Worth doesn’t have the necessary money to proceed.
Leaders of the project suggested on Tuesday they would “take a pause” in the overdue billion-dollar project until the funding picture becomes clearer. The federal government rejected a request for funds needed to reroute the Trinity River and create the “island,” and TxDOT said Tuesday the project’s unfinished bridges will need another 20-million-dollars.
The project has been in the works for more than ten-years.
