(Fort Worth, TX) — Some of the runners frustrated by the cancellation of the Tokyo Marathon are coming to Fort Worth instead.
The annual Tokyo event was called off because of a confirmed case of the coronavirus in the city. Only 600 elite runners will be allowed to compete, instead of the 36,000 who had planned to attend. But the Cowtown Marathon in Fort Worth is scheduled for that same weekend, on February 29th.
Organizers of the local event say they’ve been getting a lot of interest from out-of-town runners over the last few days.
