(Hood County, Tx) – A Hood County man died Monday morning after a 1,000 lb. hay bale fell on him as it was being unloaded from a truck.

According to the Hood County News, first responders were called to a location in the 2000 block of Camp Crucis Road, northwest of Granbury.  A stack of hay bales was being unloaded from a trailer when one fell about 7 feet, crushing the man.  A first responder said the man appeared to be about 70 years old but has not yet been identified.

The man later died at the hospital.
