Update 3/2:  Grapevine police said the bobcat was found on Saturday and had to be put down due to its injuries.

(Grapevine, Tx) – Grapevine Police have taken to social media with what they call an urgent search for an injured bobcat that stepped on an illegal foot trap.

Grapevine PD Tweeted a picture of the injured bobcat with the trap on its paw, lying on top of a fence at a home near Parr Park.  In a Facebook post, the department said it’s working with the game warden and neighboring agencies in an attempt to safely and humanely capture the bobcat and assess its injury.

Police do warn that because the animal is hurt, it could become aggressive if approached.  Anyone who sees the bobcat should call 911 with an exact location.
