(Dallas, Tx) – Tony Romo has agreed to a long-term extension to remain with CBS as its top NFL analyst, the network announced.
The New York Post reported that the deal is worth $17 million a year, making Romo the highest-paid NFL analyst in TV history. The former Dallas Cowboy QB was hired by CBS in 2017 after retiring from the league and immediately made an impact in the booth with broadcast partner Jim Nantz.
ESPN was also reported to be interested in hiring Romo for its “Monday Night Football” broadcasts but will now have to look elsewhere.
