(Fort Worth, TX) — Longtime GOP Congresswoman Kay Granger will run in the general election this fall after defeating challenger Chris Putnam in Tuesday’s primary.
Granger, who had the endorsement of President Trump, topped Putnam by 59-percent of the vote to 41-percent. Her 12th District covers Fort Worth, all of Parker County, and part of Wise County. As the ranking GOP member of the Appropriations Committee, Granger has brought billions of dollars in defense contracts for Lockheed Martin and Bell Helicopter, both of which have thousands of employees in her district.
Granger will face Democrat Lisa Welch in November.
