Online Petition Calls For Cancellation Of Houston Rodeo

(Houston, TX) — A lot of people in Houston want to cancel the rodeo because of the coronavirus.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in ongoing through March 22nd. An online petition is calling for its cancellation as the virus continues to spread, with at least eight confirmed cases in the Houston area. The petition argues that the cancelation of the South by Southwest festival in Austin should serve as a warning.

More than 8,300 people have signed as of this morning. Rodeo officials say attendance is down slightly this year.
