(Cleburne, Tx) – 97 yr. old Bill Hardin is being honored as the oldest law enforcement officer in the world after a 74-year career.

Hardin began his career as a police officer in the Fort Worth Police Department in 1947.  After retiring from the FWPD he moved on to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department and after retiring a second time, he went to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, where he still works as a Reserve Deputy.

An exhibit honoring Hardin’s 74 years is currently at the Chisholm Trail Museum in Cleburne.  Hardin says if he makes it to 75, he might just retire for good.
