(Alvarado, TX) – Alvarado ISD has cancelled all classes at all campuses today, Wednesday, March 11th over concerns that someone in the community may have been exposed to the Coronavirus.
In a statement, the district says, It has come to their attention that the parent of a student at Alvarado Elementary North “has been told to self-quarantine because of exposure to COVID-19 at a doctor’s office where they are employed.” District officials go on to say that the closure is being done out an abundance of caution and that there is no confirmed case of the virus.
Alvarado ISD says they are working with the Johnson County Health Dept. on steps to contain further exposure to the community for when the students return from Spring Break on March 23rd.
