(Alvarado, Tx.) – Alvarado ISD has cancelled classes for the rest of the week over concerns that one their students has been exposed to the Coronavirus.
On Wednesday the Johnson County school district announced they were taking the day off until they could get more information on the possible exposure, then today they said all campuses would remain closed until after Spring Break, March 23rd.
AISD posted a statement on Facebook “As stated in our communication earlier today, a member of the Alvarado Elementary North community was quarantined due to potential exposure to COVID-19. Based on new information we received late today, members of the quarantined individual’s household who are AISD students have become symptomatic of COVID-19.”
The district said they will take the time off to thoroughly clean and disinfect the school buildings.
