(Houston, TX) — The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is shutting down early due to coronavirus.
Mayor Sylvester Turner announced today he’s going to sign a seven-day emergency health declaration ending all concerts and events at the rodeo. The Tour de Houston bike race set for this weekend has been postponed as have all town hall meetings. Turner cited a coronavirus case in nearby Montgomery County as reason for the decision.
RODEOHOUSTON officials had previously said they were taking precautions but were not planning to end the multi-week event early.
