(Dallas, TX) —  A Kentucky man faces charges after his false claim about coronavirus led to an eight-hour flight delay at DFW Airport over the weekend.

The trouble started when a flight attendant asked 72-year-old George Gjergji to lift his tray table before takeoff on a Dallas-to-Nashville American Airlines flight on Saturday.  The man reportedly was uncooperative and claimed he had the virus.

Paramedics in protective gear boarded the jet, evaluated him, and found no symptoms.  Gjergji was arrested for making a false emergency report.
