(Fort Worth, Tx) – Several North Texas police departments have reached out to try and dispel quarantine rumors making the rounds on social media.
Many people are asking if officers are pulling over drivers at “stay-at-home” checkpoints and asking for work documentation to prove they can be out on the roads. Fort Worth PD posted on Twitter “these claims are not accurate. The department is not and will not enforce these types of traffic stops.”
Burleson Police Chief Billy Cordell tells the Cleburne Times Review “We’re not going to be just stopping people merely for driving on the streets of Burleson to ask what they’re doing and where they’re going…”
All police departments say you will only be pulled over for a legitimate traffic stop or if they witness a criminal offense.
