(Stephenville, Tx) – Four-time NCAA Tournament and a 12-time Coach of the Year, Billy Gillispie is the new head men’s basketball coach for the Tarleton State Texans.
The former Texas A&M and Kentucky coach has reportedly agreed to a four-year contract with Tarleton State through the 2024 season. Terms of the contract are pending approval by The Texas A&M System Board of Regents. The addition of Gillispie comes as Tarleton transitions into the NCAA Division I to join the Western Athletic Conference.
The University made the announcement Monday, but a virtual press conference to formally introduce Gillispie is scheduled for this morning at 11 a.m. on TarletonSports.com
