Canton First Monday Trade Days Canceled

(Canton, TX) — For the first time ever, the First Monday Trade Days in Canton have been canceled, because of the coronavirus outbreak.

The monthly event has been a going thing for 170 years and is the nation’s biggest and oldest continually operated flea market.

Canton city officials stated online that the decision to call off the latest trade weekend was a difficult one, since more than a thousand local vendors and artisans rely on the market for their living. But they said the decision was in the best interests of all concerned.
