Amazon Hires 4,600 Texas Workers

(Undated) — More than 4,600 Texans are now new hires at Amazon to handle a surge in online buying brought on by stay-at-home orders.

The online retail giant says many of its new workers had recently been laid off from positions such as cooks, bartenders, flight attendants, teachers, personal trainers and rideshare drivers.

The new Texas hires will do a variety of jobs, including order fulfillment and package delivery, to meet the demands of the stay-at-home shopping surge.
