(Houston, TX)  —  The new projected peak of the coronavirus pandemic in Texas is coming up within two weeks, which is sooner than expected.

Data from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington School of Medicine say the outbreak will peak on April 19th.  The peak had originally been forecast for May 2nd.

Dr. Peter Hotez, an IHME council member who’s on the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine, says it’s a good idea to keep social distancing until the end of April and see what happens next.
