(Austin, TX) — As of Thursday, only 63 of the 254 counties in Texas are reporting no cases of coronavirus.
That means three out of four counties in the state have at least one case. Houston County, which is not where Houston is located, is the last county in East Texas to report zero cases. Red River County, next to Oklahoma, reported its first case on Thursday.
Tiny Somervell County is a virus-free holdout so far. A number of sparsely populated counties in West Texas still have no cases of the virus to report.
