(Garland, TX) — At a time when the government is issuing $1,200 stimulus checks, there’s a growing call to close down state lotteries, in order to prevent risky spending.
Dawn Nettles, who runs the website Lottoreport.com, says Texas should not promote gambling at a time when the economy is stumbling. She points out that the lure of winning the jackpot draws people out into the public at a time when health leaders are asking for social distancing.
