(Weatherford, Tx) – On Wednesday, the Mayors from all over Parker County sent a letter to Governor Greg Abbott telling him their cities are ready to reopen May 1st.

Acting on behalf of the Parker County Mayors Council, the Mayors of Weatherford, Aledo and Hudson Oaks penned a letter to Abbott saying “After consulting with our fellow mayors, we have determined that the current state of the COVID-19 virus in our cities no longer warrants all of the restrictions laid out” in the Gov’s Executive Order set to expire April 30th.

The Mayors contend that in a county with a population of 140,000, Parker County has seen to date only 21 cases of the Coronavirus with 16 having already recovered, and no deaths.

Parker County Judge Pat Deen agrees, saying the citizens of Parker County have “earned” the right to go back to work.
