Announcement Expected Soon About Reopening Businesses

(Austin, TX) — Gov. Greg Abbott may make an announcement today about reopening a large number of Texas businesses amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Restaurants, retail outlets, and hair salons may be allowed to open up next. Abbott gave some radio interviews on Wednesday in which he said more details would be forthcoming on Monday. But he also said he may speak on the matter sooner.

The governor emphasized that he’s getting advice from medical experts about what standards to put in place so as to open businesses safely.
