(Dallas, TX) — Southwest Airlines is taking a major financial hit due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Dallas-based low fare air carrier announced Tuesday it lost $94 million in the first quarter of this year.  CEO Gary Kelly is still hopeful air travel will rebound in the future.  The company did receive a $3 billion loan from the federal government and made other cash-cutting plans.
