(Austin, TX) — The Texas Workforce Commission says more than two-million Texans have filed for unemployment benefits since the start of the pandemic.
The TWC says that’s three years’ worth of unemployment claims in the past two months. More than three-billion federal and state dollars have been paid out in unemployment claims.
People are starting to go back to work, but some who are considered high-risk, and would put their health in danger by leaving home, will still be eligible for benefits if they don’t return to the workplace.
