(Fort Worth, TX) — A team of Tarrant County health experts is looking into a federal prison in Fort Worth that reports more than 600 cases of coronavirus.
As of Monday, when the team responded, 636 inmates at Federal Medical Center Fort Worth had contracted the virus. Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley says that’s about 40-percent of the total inmate population.
The fifth coronavirus death of an inmate was reported on Sunday. Six staff members have also tested positive, and one has recovered.
