(Fort Worth, TX) — A new unit that focuses on gun and gang violence in Fort Worth has gotten off to a fast start.
Officials say the “Violent Crime Detail” has already made 28 arrests and seized 21 weapons in its first week of existence. The unit was introduced immediately after five people were injured during a shooting at Village Creek Park on May 10th, despite the presence of five police officers.
According to Fort Worth Officer Jimmy Pollozani, the goal of this new task force unit is to reduce gang violence in the city.
