(Dallas, TX) — The largest non-profit health system in Texas is making major layoffs due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Baylor Scott & White announced the 1,200 job cuts today along with furloughs to other workers. Baylor CEO Jim Hinton told employees today the health system has seen at least a 50% drop in patient volumes due to coronavirus. Hinton also promised the health system did all it could to protect workers, but Baylor had to re-examine things.
Senior health system leaders will also take pay cuts. The layoffs are believed to the be most in Baylor history.
