(San Antonio, TX) — The grounds around the Alamo are reopened as of 6 this morning after having been closed overnight Sunday.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg had ordered the Alamo area off-limits after violence broke out Saturday night at the end of a protest of George Floyd’s death. The mayor had earlier ordered an overnight curfew for downtown San Antonio. Nearly 40 businesses near the Alamo and the Riverwalk were vandalized Saturday night as the protests turned violent.
Three San Antonio police officers were injured.
