(Fort Worth, TX) — A couple of North Texas Confederate monuments will soon be removed.
Tarrant County Commissioners voted on Tuesday to take down the Confederate monument that’s been in front of the county courthouse since 1953. The same day, Denton County Commissioners voted to remove a Confederate monument that’s been in the courthouse square in Denton for more than 100 years. Both monuments were placed by the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Both will be put into storage until officials decide what to do with them.
