(Austin, TX) — Texas students will be returning to the campuses of public schools this fall for in-person classes.
Gov. Greg Abbott made the announcement to state legislators on Thursday. Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath says it’ll be safe for kids to go back to school this fall. The Texas Education Agency says school districts won’t be required to make students wear masks or test them for symptoms. Districts will be able to offer instructional alternatives for students.
The agency will release more information on Tuesday of next week.
