Abbott: Shutting Down Economy Last Resort To Stop Coronavirus

(Austin, TX) — Governor Greg Abbott says he hopes to avoid shutting down the state economy again to stop the coronavirus.

Abbott told reporters on Monday that issuing another stay-at-home order is the last resort, but noted the virus is spreading across the state at an unacceptable rate. The governor said more resources are going to potential hotspots, including testing kits.

Abbott wants people to practice social distancing, wear masks, and stay home if they feel sick.
