(Granbury, Tx) – Facing mounting criticism because of a sexually suggestive photo on his Facebook page, Granbury School Board member Bob Swearingen apologized before resigning in a special school board meeting last week.

The Hood County News reports nineteen audience members spoke, most of whom criticized Swearingen for his Facebook posts and demanded his resignation.  The photo showed a man resting his hands on two females’ privates during an exercise class.  Swearingen said he meant the post to be a joke.

Swearingen issued the following statement:

“I want to publicly apologize for posting inappropriate material on my personal Facebook page. Please know that those comments in no way reflect who I am as trustee, husband, and father of six daughters. The comment was offensive and I have since taken it down and apologized for the mistake.”
