(Austin, TX) — Governor Greg Abbott is extending his Disaster Declaration as coronavirus cases in Texas continue to surge.

The declaration was originally issued in March and is intended to help counties across the state get resources they need to help with the pandemic.  Abbott asked Texans to do their part by staying home if possible, and if not, to social distance and wear a mask.

Speaking with reporters in Lubbock on Friday, Abbott warned of an economic lockdown if the spread of coronavirus in Texas doesn’t slow down.
