(Granbury, Tx) – Texas Department of Public Safety is looking for information involving a deadly hit and run in Hood County.

Troopers responded to a call of a deceased person lying in the roadway on FM 4 near Massey Road in Hood County just before 10pm on July 14th.  Investigators said a man was found lying in the road, with wounds which may have resulted from being struck by a vehicle.  The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Jerrod Lee Smith of Fort Worth.

Smith’s vehicle, a white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, was parked off the roadway facing east, about 15 feet from where Smith’s body was found. The truck was still running and the driver’s door was open.  They believe Smith may have been struck sometime between 9:40 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. that night.

Anyone in the area at the time or with information concerning the incident is asked to call the TXDPS office in Granbury.
