(Washington, DC) — Mayors from Fort Worth, Arlington, Eastland and Wichita Falls are among nearly 100 Texas mayors who are asking Congress for more funding to help offset revenue losses due to the pandemic-related economic slowdown.

The downturn has sharply reduced sales tax revenues in the state.  Texas received $11-billion from the CARES Act, which were divided among the state, county and city governments.
