(Washington, DC) — Texas Senator Ted Cruz says he’s still not on board with the HEROS Act, which Republicans plan to introduce today.

Speaking on CBS’ Face the Nation, Cruz says the coronavirus pandemic and its economic fallout are both crises.  The Texas Republican says 600 dollars a week in federal unemployment is too much, since it’s more than many people earned on their jobs.

Cruz says he wants a bill to lift taxes and regulations on small businesses and gives pay raises to people who are actually working, so people have incentive to return to work.
